Duet Learning's Quality Assurance Strategy Services
Learning and development (L&D) teams make products. Like any other products used by the public (internal or external), their creation should be governed by guidelines that designers and developers must follow. Products should be error-free, but they should adhere to functionality, user experience, visual design, and overall consistency standards. While your team may follow informal quality assurance (QA) procedures, any holes or lapses in a QA process can put the team's products and credibility at risk.
While formal QA processes take time to build, implement, and support, these processes may also ultimately speed up production by formalizing standardization and reducing the amount of rework.

Duet Learning's goal is to assist organizations in developing quality assurance and control processes for learning products, including elearning modules, print materials, and presentations.
The Path to Quality Assurance
Our projects span some or all the five steps in The Path to Quality Assurance Process.
Our process consists of three phases: analysis, implementation, and support.
Phase A: Analysis
Analysis focuses on the Commit step of the Path to Quality Assurance. The goal is to identify the characteristics of a realistic and sustainable quality assurance and control process that could be successfully implemented for an individual, team, or organization.
Activities
- Identify existing quality assurance and control processes.
- Review existing style guides and a sample of existing courses.
- Interview all affected stakeholders, team members, and subject matter experts.
Outputs
A report that provides:
- A description of the current state
- A description of the desired state
- A report describing the characteristics of a quality assurance and control process for your environment
- A path forward and immediate next steps
Phase B: Implementation
Implementation includes the Create, Execute, and Integrate steps of the Path to Quality Assurance. The goal is to lead or support the implementation of the recommendations made as a result of the Analysis phase.
Activities
- Design a customized quality assurance and control process.
- Document the process, including support documentation and training materials for new and existing team members.
- Conduct and monitor pilots of the program.
Outputs
- A quality assurance and control guide
- Supporting documentation such as templates, job aids, and checklists
- Training materials for educating new and existing team members about the process
Phase C: Support
The Support phase is an ongoing effort that occurs after the Implementation phase and focuses on the Review step of the Path to Quality Assurance.
Activities
- We communicate with the process lead at an agreed-upon frequency about the status of the program.
- We offer suggestions and guidance for overcoming implementation and sustainability challenges.
- We support the lead in revising or updating the process and support material if needed.
Outputs
Outputs depend on the services requested.
